Food Inc. Insight

So I watched the documentary called Food Inc. last night and it was amazing, disturbing, and thought-provoking. I almost feel lucky to have these allergies so I don't have to eat the processed genetically modified ingredients that are pumped into packaged products. Corn and soy are almost in everything that we produce just because it's cheaper and easy to mass produce. We are truly creating a world where no one cares about what they are eating as long as its cheap and tastes good people eat it! I just can't believe that it is cheaper to eat a fast food dollar menu hamburger than buying a head of broccoli, that is SO wrong!! It just makes me sick that our government allows the subsidizing and cheap production of so called "food." Whatever happened to farmers market, organic products, seasonal produce, and home cooked meals? I challenge you to examine what you put in your mouth and ask yourself where it came from. Whatever happened to eating food that not only makes us feel good but is actually good for you? We are truly making people sick making soda, hamburgers, chips, cereals, and other products made from high fructose corn syrup, maltodextrin, and other chemically altered ingredients. Our bodies are not supposed to digest this!! Demand more for your unique, amazing, and powerful body and feed it the best nature has to offer. Eat like your great great grandparents did and feel empowered!!!!!!

Review of Tasty Harmony

So it happened I have now been to Tasty Harmony, twice!! Both times I thoroughly enjoyed my food and it actually made you feel good after eating it! I have to say that I was convinced that eating raw foods is absolutely delicious and worth all of your time. The first time I went I got the falafel plate with a salad and hummus. The falafel are made with almonds and walnuts and the hummus was spicy but lemony and the salad was amazing with this herb dressing that was so creamy!! I couldn't believe that nothing had been cooked. I also treated myself to the coconut carob pie which was superb! The waitress said that they use coconut oil and almonds among other things that made the pie super creamy. On the next visit I had the Spanish Plate which had mexican jackfruit, cashew cheese, rice, ranchero sauce, and the daily vegetable which was swiss chard. The mexican jackfruit looked exactly like shredded chicken and sort of had texture of artichokes. The cashew cheese looked and tasted just like cheese oh and the rice was full of mexican spiciness. The chard was a little hard to eat raw but it was tolerable. Overall this restaurant was absolutely superb and they even have coconut almond milk! I am definitely heading back for smoothies, lattes, and more amazing meals. Make sure to ask about certain items because not everything is free of wheat. Go now and enjoy!!!!!
